The original story The Wisdom Of Eve was turned into a famous Hollywood film and this stage adaptation. Eve Harrington attends every one of Margo Channing’s's Broadway appearances and hangs around outside of the theatre hoping to meet her favourite star. Margo's friend, Karen Richard brings her to Margo's dressing room one night where Margo takes an instant liking to the younger woman, and a grateful Eve begins to act as an unofficial secretary for her. All goes well until Margo begins to suspect that Eve's ultimate goal isn't just to work for her, but to replace her. Margo's fears are justified when Eve "steals" Margo's role in an upcoming play. |
